Join us at the Northeast Georgia History Center on Saturday, May 17th as we kick off a special Family Day event, “Adventures in Falconry.” Our friends from Georgia Mountain Falconry will be on hand to explain all aspects of this historical sport to big bird fans of all ages. Delve into the origins of the sport, the training of the birds, their care and feeding and much, much more. Get an up-close and personal look at a wide variety of raptors including hawks, owls, falcons, and even a Golden Eagle! Learn from the experts as members of Georgia Mountain Falconry will share their knowledge and firsthand experiences regarding the sport.
While visiting the History Center, be sure to visit our exhibit halls, tour the historical White Path Cabin, and enjoy the quiet and beauty of the American Freedom Garden.
The event will begin at 10:00 AM and last until 2:00 PM. Admission is $8.00 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-10, free for children 5 and under and to History Center members. For more information, please call (770) 297-5900, email us at info@negahc.org or visit our website at www. negahc.org
