Two class options are available (each class is capped at 30 students to ensure a quality experience):
• 10:00–11:15 AM
• 11:45 AM–1:00 PM
Price: $20 per Student for members | $25 per Student for non-members
Join us for an immersive homeschool intensive focused on how people throughout history survived the challenges of winter. This engaging, hands-on class will give students the opportunity to step back in time and explore the skills, knowledge, and resourcefulness needed to live through cold months before modern conveniences.
The class will be led by Alexander Bryant of SARCRAFT, a wilderness skills school based in Canton that specializes in traditional survival skills and outdoor education. Students will learn through direct participation in an outdoor setting, gaining a deeper understanding of historical winter survival methods such as shelter considerations, staying warm, and practical decision-making in cold environments.
This class is designed to be interactive and educational, encouraging curiosity, critical thinking, and hands-on learning. It is well suited for middle and high school students who enjoy history, outdoor skills, and experiential learning. Participants should be prepared to be outdoors for the duration of the class and dressed appropriately for winter weather.
This intensive offers a unique opportunity for homeschool students to learn history and survival skills in a memorable, real-world setting guided by an experienced instructor.
This is a drop off class, but parents are welcome to observe from inside the History Center.
